In partnership with the Chaipattana Foundation, assistance will be provided to restore and improve key educational institutions. Chevron volunteers will join Chaipattana in renovating classrooms and equipping them with the necessary resources to allow students to return to their familiar learning environment.
One such renovated school will be set up as a “pilot school”, with a range of awareness-raising activities on energy conservation.
Cheques were distributed to 19 institutions – 13 schools, five child-care centres and a mosque in Nonthaburi, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani and Sing Buri – at a ceremony held recently in Wang Noi District of Ayutthaya. The ceremony was attended by, among others, Chevron Asia-South Policy, Government, and Public Affairs general manager, William Koetzle, and Chaipattana Foundation’s secretary-general, Sumet Tantivejkul. Twenty provinces have been earmarked for Chevron’s flood-recovery programmes in partnership with the Chaipattana Foundation, whose executive chairperson Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has graciously granted permission to the Chaipattana Foundation to execute the project.
