To CSR Asia Centre at AIT, 12 key messages have been formulated that describe the role of business in climate change adaptation. As shown in a report "Climate Change Adaptation", the messages summarise key findings, and cover barriers, drivers, opportunities and gaps on harnessing the innovative capacity of the private sector to respond to climate change adaptation needs in South and Southeast Asia.

Such concerns are largely related to the rapid economic growth that we have seen in the region over the last three decades. The environment seems to have been viewed as a resource to be consumed rather than an asset that we should protect.

A lot of the discussions at the 10 day event related to sustainability. The focus once again was on low-carbon, environmental protection and energy conservation.
